What is recorded here
A circular hachured feature marked on the 1930 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and named 'Gravel Pit (Disused)' on the OS 25-inch plan, proved on inspection in 1984 to be a deep pit within a larger hollow. Probably of 19th/20th century date.
