Promontory fort

Identified from an aerial survey by Markus Casey who described this possible monument as a headland, Helvick Head, which juts out into the Atlantic S of Dungarvan Harbour. Visible from the air is a field boundary running across the neck of the headland. A second partly levelled field boundary crosses the headland farther E. Also within the gorse, close to the eastern tip of the promontory, there is an overgrown bank or wall running across the highest point of the headland.
