Smyth's Pottery Works stands roofless near Heathfield Towers, its circular brick kiln still holding the shape of late 19th-century fire. A long abandoned hall stretches north while a newer intermittent kiln lies south, both surrendered to overgrowth and forgotten labour. The chamber may have echoed with hammers, laughter and soot-coated hands before silence took it.
