What is recorded here

A row (L 4.95m; Wth 0.43m; D 0.26m) orientated of fourteen stakes approximately E-W on two adjacent field surfaces. The stakes are set at angles ranging from 30-80° but five pieces, which may have been disturbed, are horizontally set. Three stakes have metal-cut chisel points. One piece was identified as alder. The site is in moderately to well-humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
