What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1940, with raised "P&T" initials and foundry stamp "St. Johns Works Enniscorthy". Set into rendered pier.
This cast-iron post box, which is still in use, is an attractive item of street furniture. The Celtic Revival lettering adds artistic interest and is a reminder of the emerging national pride following Independence.
