What is recorded here
Post-mounted cast-iron post box, erected c.1940, having round-headed body with P & T insignia. Set along roadside at T junction.
Excellent example of early twentieth century street furniture. Its functional nature is enhanced by the attractive cast lettering. The use of Gaelic typescript is indicative of a installation date after the foundation of the Irish Free State.
