Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, c.1940, with inscribed 'P&T' insignia in Gaelic script. Mounted in roughcast boundary wall.
An important, if subtle, feature of the streetscape, incorporating raised elements that enhance the artistic design quality of the composition. The Gaelic script to the raised lettering is of particular interest as a reminder of the continued promotion of a national identity by the newly emergent Independent State.
