possible COURT TOMB in Magheramore

possible COURT TOMB

What is recorded here

No visible mound or stone edge remains in the open field, only a hidden court tomb buried beneath soil and forgetting. If it exists, it belongs to the Neolithic, when people shaped death into geometry and placed it inside the land they farmed. The absence does not erase the possibility. It invites caution, because what is missing may still be alive beneath the grass, waiting for someone careful enough to listen before digging.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as possible COURT TOMB. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; NEOLITHIC. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Court tomb, Neolithic period. A scheduled monument, it represents an early form of megalithic tomb associated with ceremonial or funerary practices in prehistoric Ireland.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
