The *Politician* was a British steamship built in 1939 that ran aground on Calvay Rock in Eriskay Sound, Scotland, on 5 December 1941 during a storm while carrying a cargo of whisky. The wreck was significant as it became a source of salvage for stranded sailors and locals, and remnants of the ship remained visible for decades.
