What is recorded here
Mortons Bay, County Antrim: a platform rath and an underground passage still stand together. The chamber may have hidden people, tools or memory when the cliff path became dangerous. A small circle of stones above and a narrow hole below suggest two rules at once: keep out what harms, preserve what matters. The sea can take a house in one storm, but it cannot erase the shape of a threshold.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
