PLATFORM RATH in Slush Hill

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Slush Hill in County Fermanagh still holds the buried line of a platform rath, the kind of elevated fortress people built before written records. Rain may have filled its ditches and grass may have erased its edges, but the hill itself remembers the shape of human pride. To walk there is to touch the patience of earth, which keeps what arrogance believes it has forgotten.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
