PLATFORM RATH in Moyadam

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Moyadam holds a platform rath, a raised earthwork built by human hands during the Christian era. It stands in County Antrim as a marker of settlement, defence or ceremony, though no surviving name explains which purpose it served. The platform shape suggests people valued height, visibility or separation from ordinary ground. That much remains written in the land itself.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
