Platform

Platform, peatland

What is recorded here

A quite narrow but thick band (Wth 1.7m; T 0.53m) of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.02m) and twigs was exposed in a drain face. Scattered elements increased its width (Wth 3.25m max.). There was no evidence of woodworking on this side of the drain, but a single brushwood in the opposite face may have had a degraded toolmark. Possibly the remains of a platform. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by Jane Whitaker, Archaeological Development Services. Date of upload: 26 August 2011
