PLANTATION SETTLEMENT in Corporation

PLANTATION SETTLEMENT

What is recorded here

Corporate ownership stripped local people of their birthright and forced strangers onto the land. The plantation system turned Irish villages into company assets and reduced human beings to obstacles on someone else's ledger. Resistance became necessary because the alternative was disappearance.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLANTATION SETTLEMENT. Recorded period: POST-MED; C17TH. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
