What is recorded here
Laundry operations transformed Pitcaple Castle into a working house where dirty clothes became clean goods for regional life. The building crossed from nineteenth into twentieth century activity, suggesting continuous human use rather than abandoned decay. Castle grandeur gave way to practical service, measuring worth in labour supplied instead of lineage displayed.
