Pile of Stones is a circular boundary cairn on a precipitous Mayo ridge, recording the barony line long before modern maps existed. Its pyramidal stones still mark the edge of two ancient jurisdictions, while a second cairn waits one hundred and seventy-seven metres to the southeast. Together they turn bare rock into a border people could see, walk and remember.

Situated on a precipitous mountain ridge. Not shown on the 1840-1 OS 6-inch map; on the1920 edition it is located on the line of the barony boundary and is named ‘Pile of Stones’. It consists of a low, circular cairn (diam. 2.6m; H 1.25m) of medium-sized stones, with a pyramidal-shaped profile. There is second boundary cairn (MA058-003----) c. 177m to SE.
