Penitential station in Cloghfune

In rough hill pasture, in a hollow on a S-facing slope to the E of the summit of Knocknahulla. The penitential station consists of a roughly oval gorse and grass-covered cairn (4.2m N-S; 3.1m E-W; H 0.5m) of mainly small stones, many of which are quartz. Larger quartz stones are visible intermittently along the perimeter. While making rounds at the holy well (CO127-046----), which is 8m to the S, pilgrims placed stones on this cairn.
