Paul Kane

Mallow in County Cork, Ireland, gave birth to Paul Kane on September 3, 1810, launching the life of a painter who would later document Western indigenous life. He was the fifth of eight children born to Michael Kane and Frances Loach before his family crossed the Atlantic to Upper Canada.
