Patrick Pearse was born in Dublin in 1879, the city that later claimed his life and shaped his legend. He led the Easter Rising in 1916, was executed at Kilmainham Gaol, and became a symbol of Irish rebellion. His birthplace on Pearse Street still stands as a marker of the man who turned teaching, poetry and politics into one act of defiance.
