What is recorded here

Clontarf in Dublin birthed Patrick Ambrose on 17 October 1928, the sea air mixing with junior pitch dust before Jimmy Dunne pulled him into Shamrock Rovers. He answered that faith with 109 league goals and four titles, becoming the club’s record striker in the green and white hooped number nine shirt. Born and dead in the same Dublin neighbourhood, he turned a local boy into a permanent Rovers landmark.
