Clonmethan (Gleann Meáin) graveyard and church stands on high ground with good extensive views of the surrounding countryside. Glebe House stands 120m to NE. The church and graveyard stands in the townland of Glebe, parish of Clonmethan barony of Balrothery West. Present remains consist of a sub-rectangular shaped area (dims. c. 47m N-S x 56m E-W) enclosed by a post-1700 stone wall and earthen bank at N with entrance gate at SW angle and smaller pedestrian gate giving access to the Glebe House in centre of E wall. The interior is raised to the level of the wall (H 2.6m) and higher except in the N where there is no perimeter wall (H 1.7m). St. Mary's Church of Ireland (1818) stands in the S quadrant of the graveyard on the site of the medieval church of Clonmethan (DU007-006001-). Grave markers date from 18th century onwards, earliest dated to 1754 (Egan 1992). An access path in the S has cut into grave deposits (D 1.7m). Graveyard still in use.
