This is a natural feature, a cave. Robinson (1980) records it as 'Uamhain Ghrióra'; St Gregory is said to have lived in it.
St Gregory is traditionally associated with the cave at Ooanraghtagh, where it is said he lived, reflecting early Christian monastic practices in Ireland. The site's name and connection to a saint suggest it may have been a place of local veneration or pilgrimage.
