1933 Dublin riot

On the night of 27 March 1933, five thousand anti-communists surrounded Connolly House on Great Strand Street, transforming a modest office into the most dangerous address in Dublin. They broke through the doors, overturned desks, and set fire to papers while Charles Donnelly and Bill Gannon watched their lifetime of work collapse into ash. The state stood aside as the mob purged communism from the city, proving that democratic law could vanish whenever fear became louder than reason.
