Old Oswestry hillfort, and two adjacent sections of Wat's Dyke

Scheduled monument

What is recorded here

The National Heritage List for England records Old Oswestry hillfort, and two adjacent sections of Wat's Dyke as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Old Oswestry hillfort is a large Iron Age and Roman-period hillfort located in Shropshire, England, with later Saxon and medieval reuse. While not a fairy fort in the traditional sense, it is associated with local legends, including connections to the Welsh king Owain mawr and the Roman general Wat, linked to the nearby earthwork Wat's Dyke.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
