Old Castle, Motte;Cefnllys Old Castle stands in Powys, Wales as a Medieval motte, its earthwork shaped by human hands rather than nature. The mound may have held a wooden tower, a guard room or a temporary military camp, but no building survives to confirm the arrangement. A person climbing the slope today would feel the same exposed position a Medieval defender once faced, watching the land below for danger. The castle has lost its name, owner and exact purpose, leaving only the mound to mark where power once stood.
