What is recorded here
One of seven ogham stones from this site (WA031-045----). Five of these are located at Mount Melleray Abbey, Co. Waterford (WA021-003001-, WA021-003002-, WA021-003003-, WA021-003004-, WA021-003005-) and two, including this one, are in the National Museum of Ireland (DU018-247----, DU018-358----). Found in 1960s it consists of a piece of old red sandstone (26.5 cm x 9.0 cm x 3.5 cm) and might be part of the missing section from the other ogham stone from this site that is in the museum (WA031-045008-; DU018-247----): it is not possible to be certain about this. The letters on the stone read: . . . UMU T?. . .
This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. To access details go to the following website:
