Ogham stone in Cill Urlaí

This large slab of reddish sandstone grit now lies prostrate in the corner of a small field which overlooks extensive tracts of bog to E (see KE097-004----). It once served as a footbridge over a drain, but local information indicates that it was originally located in a ceallúnach (KE097-003----) approximately 400m to W. The stone is .15m thick at base, averages .45m in width and is 2.37m in overall length. Portions of the beginning and end of the inscription have been removed. In general the scores are thin and deeply pocked. Macalister (1945, 231) read the inscription as: . . . ]OTANI M[A]QI LOSAGNI Because portions of the edge of the stone have been spalled off, the final I is no longer visible.
