Killorglin castle stood beside a long flag marked with legible Ogham characters during the early 1840s. Windele received that report before later seekers failed to find the stone again. The marker may have been buried, broken or carried away, but it once stood where people could read it.

‘A long flag with legible Ogham characters on the centre of the stone' was reported to Windele as being located close to Killorglin castle (KE056-025----) during the early 1840s (RIA MS 12 C 11). Subsequent attempts to find this possible ogham stone proved unsuccessful. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
