Ogham stone in Carrigagulla

The precise original location is unknown. Discovered during peat cutting in this townland. The ogham stone (1.6m x 0.23m x 0.23m, converted from Macalister 1945) was purchased by Cork Public Museum in 1940 and is now in the UCC collection (see CO074-147----). Macalister (1945, 126-7, no. 128) read the inscription as DOVETI MAQI LOCARENAS CELI MAQI-CULIDOVI; McManus (1991, 65 and 2004, 22, no. 25) had problems reading most of the fourth word (CELI) and all but the Q of the first MAQI.
