This building was constructed in 1874 - 75 as the Royal Artillery Barracks Officers' Quarters. Later it became the Garrison Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess.
Constructed between 1874 and 1875 as part of the Royal Artillery Barracks, the Officers' Quarters served as accommodation for military officers before later being used as the Mess for Garrison Warrant Officers and Sergeants, reflecting the evolving needs of military housing and rank structures in the 19th century.
