Not jndicated, a vanished fort on the northern boundary of Newtown in County Offaly, disappeared before human memory could hold its shape. The loss is not empty; it is a invitation to imagine the lives that turned its ridge, the children who knew its stones by heart, and the quiet confidence of a household that believed the fort would outlive them. All of that confidence failed. What remains is the boundary itself, still drawing a line across the field, still separating inside from outside, still doing the work the fort first taught the land.

Unlocated monument within townland that was mentioned in the Offaly Historical Archaeological file as 'a fort now gone' that was located in the townland of Newtown, described as an ancient fort on the northern boundary of the townland (OS Field Name Books 1837-40).
