What is recorded here

Associated with the medieval church of Newtown Earley (KK027-012001-) and uncovered during a clean-up of graveyard in 1985-7 (KK027-012009-) (Harte 1987, 408-17). Currently lying within the church. A tapering slab (L 1.97m; Wth 0.63m at top; Wth 0.33m at base; T 0.26m) decorated with a raised four-armed floriated cross, with a circle at the centre. The shaft terminates with a small fleur-de-lys. The top edge of the slab is chamfered. Stylistically this graveslab dates to the 13th/14th century.
