What is recorded here
North Shoals is shown as a bay on the public map of Gwynedd. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
North Shoals consists mainly of Silurian greywacke and mudstone, formed around 440–420 million years ago through deep-marine sedimentation and subsequent tectonic compression. The area is notable for its resistant rock formations that have withstood coastal erosion, creating distinctive sea cliffs and wave-cut platforms along the Gwynedd coast.
