Noel Kelehan was born in County Dublin, Ireland on 26 December 1935. He conducted twenty-nine Eurovision entries, including five winning Irish songs, before retiring in 1998. Kelehan died in Dublin on 6 February 2012 at age seventy-six after a long illness.
