Accoring to Ryland (1824, 271) a rock-cut image of St Murrin was kept in a cave near Dunbrattin Head. It was seen by Power (P 1896), who discounted it as a natural feature. It is described locally as an image of the Blesed Virgin, which is known as the Naomhoreen. The cave is now inaccessible.
