What is recorded here

On top of Bregaun hill in upland region with panoramic views in all directions. No evidence of any burial which was referred to in the Kilkenny journal of 20 July 1918 which refers to 'Excavations on Brengaun'. Cairn (TS049-014001-) in grassland at time of inspection with railing erected around Stone cross. The construction of the cross in the 1950s may have resulted in the partial levelling of any cairn on this hill. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
