Mullacreevie ambush

On 1 March 1991, a Provisional IRA unit ambushed a British Army patrol at Mullacreevie in County Armagh, killing two soldiers, wounding two others and destroying their vehicle. The attack belonged to the wider Troubles and Operation Banner, reminding everyone that even routine patrols could become fatal in seconds. It is easy to forget the ordinary men inside that vehicle, driving through dark country roads while believing they were merely going about a job.
