What is recorded here

Mounds marks the edge between Knocknagalty and Lyre on Slievecushnabinnia Mountain, joining two neighbour cairns ten and fifteen metres away. The mountain kept that small stone witness while human memory wavered, suggesting the boundary outlived the names and shapes recorded around it.

In rough pasture, on Slievecushnabinnia Mountain, on the townland boundaries between Knocknagalty and Lyre. One of three boundary cairns (LI050-028001-/003-) lie 10m to the SW and 15m to the NW, respectively. Not marked on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Annotated ‘Mounds’ on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map.
