MOUND with URN BURIAL in Mullaghinch

MOUND with URN BURIAL

What is recorded here

Mullaghinch holds a burial mound where an urn once kept someone small enough to fit inside clay. That much is clear. The rest belongs to imagination, because no name, date or event has survived to limit it. Perhaps the urn held a child, a favourite cat or a whole village compressed into one deliberate act of love. The mound still stands because somebody refused to let that choice disappear.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MOUND with URN BURIAL. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
