What is recorded here

Sixty metres north of Dún Chonchúir, an irregular grassy mound of earth and stone lies immediately south of the road. It may be the remains of a clochan recorded in OS Letters as fifty paces north of the fort, measuring twenty-seven feet long and thirteen feet broad. The mound has lost its walls but keeps its shape, waiting for someone to remember what it held.

Some 60m N of Dún Chonchúir (GA119-054----) immediately S of the road. An irregularly shaped grassy mound of earth and stone (L 13.8m, Wth 6m) noted by Waddell (pers. comm.). This could be the remains of the clochan recorded in OS Letters as 'fifty paces' to N of this fort and described as 'measuring 27 feet [8.25m] in length and 13 [3.95m] in breadth' (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 261).
