On a S-facing slope in rolling pastureland. Well-preserved circular beehive-shaped pier (D 2.6m, H 2m) composed of mortared limestone blocks. An inscribed plaque at SW, dated 1653, commemorates James Lally and his family, (Killanin and Duignan 1967, 447) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
