OSi 6-inch map as circular shaped platform defined by a scarp and intersected at SE by a post-1700 field boundary running NE-SW. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as roughly oval-shaped platform (dims. c. 29m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by a scarp, truncated from SSE-S by a post-1700 field boundary running NE-SW. Monaraha Fort is a circular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 6th and 10th centuries, characterized by a scarp and bank. Local folklore, though not detailed in records, may associate it with fairy legend or ancient habitation, as is common with such sites in Irish tradition.
