What is recorded here

On ground sloping to the SW in rolling pastureland. The monument is marked as a rectangular enclosure on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map but is not depicted on subsequent editions. There is no visible trace of the enclosure above ground. An L-shaped pond, depicted on the 2nd ed. OS 6-inch map, may have been the remains of a water-filled fosse along the S and W side, but is no longer visible. The field, which is depicted as being marshy on the 2nd (1907) ed. 6-inch OS map, has been reclaimed. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
