Moated site in Raheen (maryborough West By.)

Marked on the 1841 edition of the OS 6-inch map as an almost square enclosure. On the 1906-7 revision, the S, W and N sides (max. dim. c. 50m N-S) are hachured. Vague outline of the bank and fosse visible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
