What is recorded here

Situated on a S-facing slope in wet upland pasture overlooking stream located c.250m to S. Square raised area (dims. 30m NNW-SSE; 30m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a broad bank of earth (Wth 4.5m; int. H 1.1m). There is a fosse (Wth 6.2m; D 0.3m) at the external foot of the bank. The bank encloses the site from NW-SSW. From SSW-NW the bank is absent where a NNW-ESE orientated field bank with a drain on the W side lies along the line of the inner base of the absent bank. The fosse encloses the site SSW-SE with trace remains visible SE-SSW. A break (Wth 1.7m) in the bank at NNW marks the position of the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F.
