Situated in the valley of a W-E stream c. 100m W of its confluence with a SW-NE stream. This is a circular overgrown area altered into a D-shaped area (dims. 35m E-W; 30m N-S) by the stream on the S side and by field clearance at the W side. It is defined by a flat bottomed moat (at E: Wth of top 7.5m; Wth of base 3.5m; int. D 2.4m; ext. D 1.8m) with a slight inner bank (at E: Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.8m) and an intermittent outer bank (at E: Wth 2.5m; ext. H 0.5m) NW-SE. There is an entrance causeway (Wth 6m), which is probably modern, at NE.
