Moated site in Farnans

Marked on the 1906 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a square enclosure (max. dim. c. 40m). A slightly raised area defined by a fosse (Wth c. 6m) at N, NE and W survives. No other visible surface remains. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
