In gently undulating countryside. A rectangular area (dims. c. 30m E-W 30m, 19m N-S) enclosed by an inner bank (Wth c. 7m; int. H c. 0.5m, ext. H c. 0.9m), intervening fosse (Wth c. 4m) and outer bank (Wth c. 4.8m) at W and N. Possible original entrance at E. There is a square enclosure (LA024-093----) c. 680m to the SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
