What is recorded here

O'Rourke refers to a 'silver and lead mine . . . upon the very Harbour-mouth of Sligo, "in a little demy-island commonly called Coney Island", this last being the only one of the three mentioned by Boate, in his 'Natural History of Ireland', as if the others were unknown to him.' (O'Rourke 1890, vol. 1, 15).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
