What is recorded here
According to an index of the Civil Survey (1654-6) there were two mills at Kilcowan in 1640 that were both probably owned by Oliver Keating (Simington 1953, 163). One mill (WX046-071----) is also mentioned in inquisitions post-mortem, but there is no other source for this second mill. Its location cannot be identified.
